Friedrich Engels was born in 1820, in the German city of Barmen. He died in London in 1895 while editing the fourth volume of Capital.Karl Marx studied law and philosophy at the universities of Bonn and Berlin, completing his doctorate in 1841. Expelled from Prussia in 1844, he took up residence first in Paris and then in London where, in 1867, he published his magnum opus Capital. A really great book to have handy. The paper is much higher quality than most books out there at this price. As for content, it covers a lot of Marx's work. I'd recommend to anyone looking to find a book full of Marx materials
Great collection of writings of Marx and Engels.
A great collection of some of the well known and even a few lesser known works of the intelligent Marx and Engels. An essential book for an introduction to Marxist philosophy and ideology. The range within the collection is impressive and gives a breadth of understanding.
This tome is massive. I needed it for a graduate level class on classical sociological theory. It can be confusing at times because translations from German to English are difficult, but this is still an excellent read to get the full range of Marx's ideas in his own words. There is also a lot from Engels but most of it is Marx.
excellent overview of Marx and Engels works, it makes reading Marx (who can be difficult to read) easier to understand.
